Tamara Shaw is a holistic practitioner with 26+ years of experience and more than 10,000 hours of theoretical and practical training in osteopathic and integrative healing for animals and people.
After an early formal education in law and a successful career as a writer and producer with major studios in Hollywood, Tamara followed her deepest calling — the healing of animals and the people who love them. She began her formal training with world-renowned animal massage expert Jean Pierre Hourdebaigt, then traveled extensively as a dedicated apprentice alongside veterinarians and masterful healers across North America and Europe. She went on to open her clinic, the Centre de Soins, in Huelgoat, France, where she also worked with animal rescues across the country, teaching hands-on techniques to help rescue animals transition more successfully into new homes and families.
Tamara is the founder of Shaw Human Animal Healing LLC and Osteo-Tam Holistic Services, and the creator of the Institute for Human Animal Integrative Care (IHAIC) — an online education platform offering certification programs for practitioners who wish to work with both animals and their people. She holds a Master’s degree and leads an ongoing graduate-level research initiative exploring the mirrored somatic and emotional patterns that emerge between humans and their animals. Her third book, on the clinical application of Somatic Bond Release Therapy for bonded human-animal pairs, will form the foundation of her doctoral dissertation.
A session with Tamara may include French osteopathic bodywork, craniosacral therapy, the IHAIC integrated method and Osteo-Tam approach, homeopathy, Reiki, acupressure meridian therapies, sound therapy, medical intuitive body scanning, naturopathy, and more. Every consultation includes a fully customized natural care plan for the individual patient.
Tamara works with equine, companion animal, and human clients and is currently establishing her practice in the Fairhope and Baldwin County, Alabama area. She is available for in-person sessions, virtual consultations, and travels to teach seminars and certification programs.

“In my graduate research I have been studying something I have witnessed in my practice for more than two decades — that the emotional and physiological lives of animals and their owners are not separate. They are shared. The anxiety your dog carries may live in your body too. And the deepest healing I have seen takes place not when I treat the animal, or when I treat the person — but when I treat the bond itself. That is the subject of my next book, and the clinical methodology behind it will become the third.”
Deepening bonds — healing together.
